    My Wife and I were there many years ago and they were moving the El cars to the main area. Anyway, as it's moving out of the staging area, the trolly pole comes off the overhead wire. There's this short, stocky guy running on an angle toward the now stopped cars yelling, "HEY! HEY! THE POLE IS OFF THE LEAD CAR!" He nearly stumbled across the tracks, and a Museum worker hollers, "YES WE KNOW!..GET OFF THE TRACKS!"

We have one of those PCC cars here. I rode that Trolley car the other day. Well not same one in the video, but it did come from Pa. The same color scheme.

    • @Poisson4147
      @Poisson4147 4 года назад

      They were bought for a proposed extension to Exton PA that would have been built in conjunction with a widening of Highway 202. But that was the early 1960s when automobiles ruled supreme; the extension never made it off the drawing board. The Liners were relegated to the existing P&W tracks which were ill-suited to the heavy, juice-hungry cars, forcing Red Arrow and later SEPTA to restrict them to rush hours. They lasted long enough for me to ride them during my student days, although I couldn’t partake of the bar car at the time, bummer.
